Fresh impulses from emerging markets and developing countries

CBI brings a broad range of specialities to Apparel Sourcing Paris!

At Apparel Sourcing Paris, the biggest garment sourcing show in Europe, CBI will be attending with five producers from Myanmar (pdf). The companies from Myanmar are part of the CBI programme “Time for Transition – Garments Myanmar” that has focused on supporting companies to start exporting directly and to become self-sufficient. The project has also focussed on developing capacity and skills in the country with MGMA (The Myanmar Garment Manufacturing Association).

Myanmar has evolved slowly into a competitive regional sourcing destination in Asia for several brands and retailers. A group of five manufacturers will be participating in the Apparel Sourcing Paris from 16th – 19th of September in Le Bourget with a a focussed collection of outerwear products like jackets in wovens, pants, polo t-shirts and knits. Myanmar’s garment exports have already grown several-fold since 2013 and the number of garment manufacturers in the country have doubled. These five companies are a part of a Dutch Government supported project in Myanmar which focuses on helping build the garment sector and its exports from Myanmar sustainably. Most of the manufacturers are already exporting to the EU through a variety of agencies and collaborations. They would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your team to explore the potential to work with you closely. They are all highly skilled and have recently established regional collaborations with fabric mills, technical advisers and regional associations in Singapore, Cambodia, China and others.

Focus on Myanmar.
