SEG seafood expo

Are you interested in connecting with new suppliers? CBI connects you with reliable, high-quality suppliers prepared to do business with a European partner. With the Connecting Central America project, CBI helps SMEs and cooperatives become more competitive in the European market.

Central American suppliers ready for the European Market

At Seafood Expo Global (SEG), CBI presents companies from Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, and Nicaragua ready to enter the European Market. Each of these companies has received individual coaching from a CBI sector expert. The companies offer an interesting range of products:

  • Frozen seafood like dark colour cooking quality Vannamei shrimps.
  • Caribbean spiny lobster to fresh fish like grouper.
  • Wild and farmed snapper, mahi-mahi, swordfish and tuna.

This will be the first time that Central American companies exhibit at a regional pavilion at SEG. The pavilion will be a one-stop shop for importers interested in various products on offer.

Central America is an attractive region for European fish and seafood importers. It offers a combination of aquaculture and wild catch fresh fish and seafood. Many of the exports currently go to the USA or Asia. Still, the Central American companies offer many products that appeal to the European market. And the Association Agreement signed between the EU and the Central American region in 2012 has improved conditions for trade. With low prices and high requirements in the USA, Central America is looking to the European market to diversify.
