Meet CBI at Salon International de l'Agriculture et des Ressources Animales (SARA) 2023

Cashew shell

Do you want to learn more about cashew shells and Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) production techniques? Are you interested in the CNSL international and local market trends? Join us for the CBI session 'Circular economy in the cashew sector' at the Dutch pavilion at SARA on 2 October, 14:00-15:30 GMT.

The cashew processing sector is quickly growing in Africa, particularly in Côte d'Ivoire. And the use of by-products such as the cashew shells is also increasing. Some processors are now producing CNSL from cashew shells. And there is a lot of potential for other processors to get involved. The CNSL market offers new opportunities. International buyers in the energy and chemical sectors are interested in CNSL as a substitute for petrol. And the demand from local buyers offers the potential to diversify the sales market.

During the CBI session, we aim to promote cashew shell processing in West Africa by bringing together technical experts, CNSL or shell processors, national institutes, potential investors, clients and potential local users.
