Exporting sustainable cotton to Europe

Sustainable cotton currently comprises almost one fifth of the world’s cotton supply. Although over the last 5 years, conventional cotton imports to Europe have been declining by 2.5% per year, sustainable cotton imports are expected to grow at over 20% per year driven by the environmental and social concerns of the consumers and the governments. Italy, Germany, Portugal and Spain are currently the biggest European importers of cotton, as well as cotton yarn and fabric.
