Engineering Egypt

The goal of this export coaching programme is to help industrial products manufacturers in Egypt to export more of their products. The focus is on regional exports first: the Middle East and Africa. Exporting to Europe is the next step after that.

The programme covers companies in several sectors: home appliances; electrical and electric engineering; automotive parts and components; engineering; and metalworking. Exporting in the region will help these entrepreneurs to get more skills and confidence. With more export experience, it will be easier for them to compete against suppliers from Turkey and China on the European market.

Promoting regional exports is part of the mission of CBI. It is another way of contributing to sustainable economic growth.

Project details

This programme began in 2016 and will end in 2020. We've finished selecting and auditing companies and the training and coaching programme is on-going. For example in product development, certification and export marketing.

Corporate social responsibility and gender are also important themes in this programme. Together with the participating companies we are working on better and safer working conditions and more environmental and gender awareness.

The goal of the programme is to help the participating companies enter new export markets. In Europe, for example, some of the Egyptian companies will exhibit at Germany’s Hannover Messe trade fair.

Meet the participants

You can contact CBI to find out more, or to get in touch with these exporters.

Another possibility is to meet these potential suppliers at the next big trade fairs they will attend in Europe. For more information, contact CBI.

Partners

Our main partner in this programme is the Engineering Export Council Egypt (EEC Egypt). This branch association is helping us to support the 16 participating companies and to strengthen the sector as a whole. CBI is also helping EEC Egypt in several ways, for example:

  • How to identify promising export markets
  • How to offer more and better export services
  • Getting more and better knowledge of the regional and European market for Engineering products

We are also working with local business service organisations and local experts. We offer them training in export services. That way they can support Egyptian companies in reaching other markets.

Get involved as an importer

Are you a European importer interested in manufacturers from Egypt? You can contact CBI to get more information, or to meet with these suppliers who are being trained to export to Europe.
