Current EU market trends including increased importance of niche markets like for fair trade, handmade, sustainability, eco-friendly products, good give promising opportunities for the HDHT sector in Myanmar. There is a strong trend in the Western world of striving for individuality and originality. Most of the products are handmade, takes place by producers in villages in the rural areas and ancient/traditional techniques and skills are applied.
The objective of this project is to make the HDHT sector Myanmar more export competent, enabling it to better grasp EU market opportunities. The approach will be providing technical assistance to exporters through CBIs business export coaching trajectory in combination with strengthening the enabling environment to address the mentioned issues.
