Natural Ingredients for Cosmetics Colombia
Natural Ingredients for Cosmetics Colombia is part of CBI’s Natural Ingredients Programme Latin America. This programme also covers natural ingredients for food and pharmaceuticals. In the cosmetics sector, we are focusing on the promotion of plant materials for use in cosmetics: luxurious oils, exquisite fragrances and innovative botanical extracts from Colombia.
CBI has worked with cosmetics exporters in Latin America before. In this programme, we are working with a small group of companies specialised in oils for cosmetics. These companies already export to the United States. But they are not yet active in Europe. The European market offers good business opportunities for them.
Project details
This project began in 2014 and will end in 2018. In 2014, we selected participants. Since then, we have trained and coached these companies. The purpose is to help them prepare for entering the European market. For example, we have helped them to get a better understanding of what European buyers want. They have also done a lot of market research. Using that research, each company wrote an export marketing plan with CBI’s help.
The final phase in this project is market entry. The companies in this project are already experienced in exporting to the USA. Also they have visited Europe with CBI to get to know the market.
In April 2016, we supported them in exhibiting at in-cosmetics in Paris, France. This is one of the world’s leading trade fairs for the cosmetics industry. Looking at their quality and export-readiness, we were confident of their success at this fair.
