About the project

Senegal's horticulture sector is facing several challenges in growing and becoming more sustainable. This affects youth employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. To support the sector, CBI will start a Youth in horticulture project in October 2024. The project aims to improve youth employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

For this, CBI will:

  • enable the sector to sufficiently support current and aspiring SME exporters with services;
  • support young entrepreneurs to establish themselves as service providers in the horticulture export sector;

  • develop a powerful exit strategy, to ensure lasting improvements in youth employment and entrepreneurship after the project has been completed.

Horticulture sector expert for business development and supply chain management coaching

CBI is looking for an expert who will:

  • guide and assist a select group of Senegalese horticulture exporters to meet EU market requirements;
  • guide SMEs in building strong supply relationships with farmers' collectives, to ensure sustainability and resilience in the supply chain.

  • guide and assist young entrepreneurs in the Senegalese horticulture sector in developing their businesses;
